Poplar plantation, 5.9 ha with young stock – Loiret

Located in the commune of Gy-les-Nonains in Loiret, this forestry holding of nearly 6 hectares (14.8 acres) is dedicated principally to poplar cultivation. The eastern Gâtinais region, between Montargis and the Loire valley, offers a well-preserved natural setting whilst ensuring good accessibility.

The current timber stand comprises approximately 2 hectares (4.9 acres) of poplars aged around ten years, displaying vigorous growth with average heights of 17 metres and diameters of 25–30 cm. Pruning has been carried out to 6 metres height across all stems, ensuring optimal timber quality. The remainder of the area consists of open ground with scattered ash trees, offering scope for plantation expansion.

Although the parcels are not contiguous, they benefit from vehicular access via registered forest tracks suitable for forestry machinery. The rich, well-watered soils represent a significant asset for poplar cultivation. Acquisition qualifies for DEFI Forêt tax relief, subject to a sustainable management plan.
